About US
The name comes from a creek that once traversed our capitol city right through the national mall. It was long ago covered over by buildings and bureaucrats, but it still courses beneath our feet, wreaking subtle havoc to our structures and institutions to this very day.

Kristen WEndt
Lead Vocals
A theatre kid from Monroe, CT, Kristen is now an elementary educator and recently earned her master’s in Special Education at AU. She also works part-time as an usher at the Kennedy Center. In her free time (read: during the summer), Kristen enjoys working out, learning to play guitar, karaoke, and cuddling her pupper Willow.
mitch Wynnyk
Bass and Vocals
A musical polymath, Mitch has played guitar since high school, French horn since 6th grade, and piano since he was a wee lad. He also sang in the chorus in high school and had brief stints with saxophone and singing saw. Besides playing music, you’ll find him sailing, skiing, cooking, or chasing around his two boys.
Jon DonenbErg
Keyboard
A lawyer by training who works in politics and public policy, Jon has played saxophone and piano for decades, occasionally in formal settings, but more frequently around town at local live music venues – and at least once in his own parade down Bourbon Street in New Orleans. In addition to playing piano (and other digital instruments as needed), Jon has also taken the pen on some original songwriting for the band.
Xander Vagg
Drums and Vocals
Hailing from Tampa, FL, Xander is now one of those government types that works downtown and wears ties. A drummer for 20+ years, he can also be spotted in his free time playing tennis, cooking, and reading. In addition to being our master of all things percussion, Xander is also a featured rapper throughout our set.
